Our team now offers our patients the possibility of an allogenic gum graft, which was previously inaccessible.
The graft consists of a matrix of connective tissue (the tissue underlying the epithelium) taken from donor tissue (based on the same principle as skin grafts for burn victims).
However, this matrix contains no traces of cells, hemoglobin, or anything else that can cause rejection of the graft. The matrix is composed entirely of collagen, which allows your own cells to migrate to matrix and colonize it.
The effect is to achieve a ''lifting'' of any part of your gum that has receded, even if the recession is severe.
